It's often difficult to choose a gift for a man. Here are some suggestions for what that special man might like for Valentine's Day.
Selecting the right Valentine's Day gift for your husband or boyfriend can be a daunting task. Advertising tends to focus on gifts for men to give women. Valentine's Day is not a one-way holiday but you may find yourself stumped for gift ideas. Men can be hard to shop for because they don't often drop hints about what they would like. It is possible, however to enter their enigmatic little minds and find a gift they will be delighted by and remember for years to come.
First, sit down and think about his interests. Does he like cars, gardening or music? What are his favorite foods, sports or leisure activities? The best presents are the ones that show you are paying attention to his passions and interests. Nothing makes a man happier than to know that you are listening to him and care about what matters to him.
With this in mind, here are ten ideas to get you started on some special Valentine's Day gifts.
1) Have a sports aficionado in your home? How about a gift certificate for an hour at the batting cages or 18 holes of golf at his favorite golf course?
2) Does your honey yearn for chocolate? It's not just for women anymore. A one pound heart-shaped box custom filled with his favorite types is a great gift. Find out if he likes dark or milk chocolate. How does he feel about caramel? Nuts? If you are lucky, he may even share with you.
3) Put together a gift basket with all of his favorite foods. Does he like cashews and Guinness Stout? Smoked salmon and caviar? Cookies and more cookies? A gift basket you put together with his favorites will make him one happy man.
4) Does he like to sing in the shower? How about a shower radio? If you get one with a CD player why not add a CD of one of his favorite artists or a compilation of love songs?
5) Does he really need to chill out? A day at a spa with a hot tub and a couples massage will be something you both will enjoy.
6) Like the above idea but on a budget? How about a bottle of bubble bath, some massage oil and a coupon promising him a half-hour massage redeemable for whenever he wants?
7)Does he like coffee or use the computer a lot? You can get a photo of the two of you imprinted on a coffee mug or mouse pad at most photo-developing labs.
8) Think about his hobbies. There are magazines out there for every interest from Appaloosas to Yoga. Many individual sports have their own specialty magazines.
9) If he already gets magazines maybe you can locate that elusive part to the car he is rebuilding or get him a new pair of batting gloves. He will be sure to appreciate the fact that you cared enough to find out what he needed.
10) What if he doesn't have any hobbies and is sort of a couch potato? Maybe he'd like a recliner with a built in massager. You can also get just a massage pad that fits on the back of his favorite comfy chair.
Remember that the best gifts are the ones that show you care about the individual. You can do this by looking at his interests and passions and being just a little bit creative.
