The first side effect is that you get better. I have people with a variety of side effects that amaze me. Their skin tone is better, they have more energy, they have a better appetite, and they generally feel better spiritually, mentally, and physically. There are some negative side effects that can also happen. There is the rare possibility of nerve pain. It usually happens with a practitioner who doesn't know where the points are. They might hit the nerve right on or something. After looking at reports, I can't think of any other negative side effects. Nerve problems generally occur when acupuncture is performed by a doctor, nurse, or chiropractor who doesn't have the full training in acupuncture. Maybe they just went to a $100 course, or they decided to do it because they wanted to do it. I am not going to say it is impossible to have a fatality with a trained professional, but it is not likely. I've never heard of one.
