Set up a home-security review. Once your credit has cleared, set up an appointment for an ADT specialist to come out and review your home. This is done at no cost to you, and carries no obligation to buy a home-security system. The specialist will examine your home and explain what type of home security he feels will best meet your needs. He will also discuss the cost of installation with you.

Choose your package. This can be done either online or with the information the specialist has left you. ADT has a variety of home-security packages and services to choose from, which also include home-health services and video surveillance. It is a decision that may take some time to make.

Set up your account. This will obviously include some very basic information, such as your name and address. However, it is vital that this information be correct, because this is the address ADT will have on file in case there is an emergency at your home and they need to dispatch emergency workers or police officers.

Make your installation appointment. This can be done either online or by calling ADT. Once an appointment has been made, the company will dispatch a home-security specialist from one of their local offices to come to your home and install your system.
