This baby album is a great present to make and present to expecting parents. Here's how.

Pregathered lace, 1" wide, 3 yards long

Two satin ribbon bows in coordinating colors

Prepainted wooden banner, "It's a Girl" or "It's a Boy"

Two small resin baby figures

Mini baby bracelet

Music button with baby tune

Glue gun and glue sticks

Scissors

Ruler

Iron

Self-stick baby-shaped frames can be purchased at most craft stores and they come in the shape of a baby rattle, baby face, bootie and baby bottle.

Directions:

In order to create an authentic baby album, first we must cover the outside of the album with padding. Using the batting as a template, cut a piece of batting and fit loosely around the front of the album, the spine and the back of the album, adding an extra inch to all sides.

Next, place batting on baby print fabric, and using as a pattern, cut fabric to fit batting. This will be the cover for the outside of the baby album.

Next, place outside fabric right side down on a work surface.

Then center album batting on fabric. Remember that there should be a 1" overhang of fabric on each side of batting.

Now center opened album right side down on batting. Apply glue around top, bottom, and side edges on inside of back cover. Fold any corners over on glue. Then fold sides, top, and bottom edges over on glue.

Press fabric over edge on top of glue about 1/4" all the way around. Be sure to glue to inside of spine also.

Now all we need to do is complete the inside of the album. Using the batting as a template, cut a piece of batting and fit loosely around the front of the album, the spine and the back of the album, adding an extra 1" to all sides.

Repeat the same above procedures for attaching fabric to front side of album cover.

Do not pull fabric too tightly. You will need to allow enough give in cover for album to close easily.

Starting and ending at bottom of spine with scallops extending outward, take lace and glue around edges of album. Press firmly.

Apply glue to music button and attach to center inside of frame. Glue lace around top outside edge of music button.

Glue bracelet along bottom edge of lace on front side of cover.

Glue one bow below lace on top center of fabric cover, and one bow centered along the bottom of cover, just above the lace.

Next, glue a wooden banner slightly off centered on front of album and attach resin figures with glue, centered below the banner.
