Chores are good for your children. They are a good way to teach responsibility and can provide a way to earn spending money. There are chores that are appropriate for all ages and all members of your family. This article will provide you with ideas and ways to motivate your children to accomplish chores.

Chores are necessary because they are a good way to teach youngsters responsibility. Children are members of your household and they need to help contribute to it. Every family member enjoys the benefits of a clean and organized home.

Allowances can be a good way to motivate your children to complete their chores. There are two types of allowances that you can provide. One is earning privileges and the other is money. You can make a list of privileges your children can earn for completing their chores. Some priveleges include staying up late at night, going to a movie, staying the night at a friend's, talking on the phone, playing video games or any other acivities that you decide. Money provides a way for your children to save for what they want such as shoes, clothes and other acivities. It can help teach financial responsibility such as helping your children learn to budget and prioritize their spending. They can learn for themselves what is important to spend their money on and what is not. This can also be a good way to teach your children how to tithe. A certain percentage of their allowance can be given by them to your church or other charity.

There are chores all around your house that are appropriate for all ages and all members of your family. All it involves is some creative thinking and a willingness to help the younger members of your household. Toddlers can help pick up their toys, put their dirty clothes in a basket or clothes hamper. They can help you dust with a clean rag. Preschoolers can do all of the above activities and much more such as making their bed, setting the dinner table, helping take out the garbage and helping unload and put away the groceries. Schoolage children can help do all of the above activities and more such as helping feed the pet, sweeping the kitchen, and helping wash and dry the dishes. Be creative in your thinking and know your child's limitations.

There are lots of ways to motivate your children to complete their chores. You can use the reward system which involves giving your children privileges or money when they complete their chores. You can also punish them when they do not do their chores or do not complete them right. Discipline them in a way right for you and your family. Be sure to provide lots of praise for a job well done. This works really well especially with the younger ones. They love to please mom and dad. Make chores fun. Sometimes when a paren helps, it can make the job more enjoyable plus your youngster may open up and talk to you about what has been going on in their lives. Be sure to help out with a chore if your child is struggling until they get the hang of it or else you may have to find an easier chore for them to do.

In conclusion, chores are a good way to teach responsibility to your children. It is what is expected of all members of a family and also teaches them how to do things on their own when they become adults.
