Getting your kids to eat right is not an easy task. Any parent can tell you this. But it’s your job to make sure you supply your child as close to a well balanced diet each day as possible.

The biggest thing to keep in mind is to eliminate any processed foods from your diet completely. These foods are high in sugar, fat and salt. A good rule of thumb when providing food for your child is that when you check the food labels, if there’s anything in it that you can’t pronounce, don’t buy it and don't eat it.

When you’re feeding your toddler, you want to give her at least one serving of Vitamin C each day. This includes foods like grapefruit or oranges. You want to provide your child with at least one service of Vitamin A, as well. This includes foods like carrots, sweet potatoes, cantaloupe, and spinach. You should also give your child a vegetable like broccoli, cabbage, or cauliflower at least three times a week, and make sure your child eats high-fiber foods each day, like a banana, pear, strawberries, or peas.

We’ve all heard how we’re supposed to feed our family members five servings of fruits and vegetables each day. This may sound impossible at first. But what you should do is eliminate things like potato chips, pretzels and cookies, and give them fruits and vegetables as snacks. This will take care of that problem.

You need to realize that you should start your child off early on having a proper diet. They learn from you. You need to make sure you feed yourself and them the foods that they should be eating. Be consistent. Once you’ve established a proper diet for your family, stick to it. Do it week after week and month after month. Vary the diet slightly substituting nutritious foods from the same families.
