In most major emergency rooms they are usually filled with patients waiting to be seen and the hospital has tons of paperwork that must be filled out and the race to see a doctor seems endless. If you wish to end the emergency room hassles, there are a few ways this can be accomplished.
Emergency rooms are for emergencies: the most life threatening are taken above others. Your first stop in an emergency room is with triage, this is the place where the nurse takes all your medical information and asks the questions about your needs. This is the most important step in receiving fast emergency medical attention. If you have gone to the emergency room there is a reason. Let the nurse at this point know your complete medical history, do not leave any details out. Do not tell your opinions you are not a doctor, if you have difficulty breathing or bleeding or any out of the normal symptoms, let them know.
After you see the triage nurse you will usually go to another window to make payment arrangements. If you have medical insurance make sure you have the current medical card, and the contact information for your primary care physician. While you are doing the paperwork, the emergency staff is determining the complexity of your condition, if it is one of the more complex situations, you are put up in the priority list.
If at all possible avoid emergency rooms on Saturday nights, this is the busiest time for any emergency room facility.
