The southern Florida city of Delray Beach is known for its beaches, culture and heritage. You'll want to enjoy the weather and check out some of the culture of the city, while you're in town. Here is a list of some of the sights that you won't want to miss in Delray Beach, Florida.
• Delray Beach. The beaches here are second to none. This is a great place to play volleyball, go swimming, take your boat out, or just enjoy some fun in the sun. This is quite a popular beach in town by both locals and visitors. You'll definitely want to spend some time here.
• Shipwrecked S.S. Inchulua. This is a boat that was wrecked off the shores of Delray Beach. If you swim or take a boat out about half a mile off shore, you'll see the boat and can do some exploring, if you'd like. This is something that you just simply have to do if you're visiting Delray Beach. The ship is amazing to see.
• Morikami Museum and Japanese Gardens. This is a beautiful facility that you must see when you're in the area. The gardens offer an amazing array of flowers and greenery that you'll feel right at home sitting and relaxing for awhile. These grounds are also home to the only museum in the United States dedicated to Japanese immigrants who founded the Yamato Colony. The facility is called the Yamatoken Museum.
• Cornell Museum of History and Art. This museum is home to exhibits that will make the eyes sparkle of even the most educated art enthusiast. It offers some great period pieces and has several traveling exhibits. This museum is at 51 North Swinton Avenue. 561-243-7922.
• Old School Cultural Center. This center is where some of the first school houses in the area were built. Some of the leaders of the past for the region were educated here, and you can tour the facility today. The buildings are now home to several museums . You can tour the Old School Cultural Center at 51 North Swinton Avenue.
