Are you still handwashing those dishes in your kitchen, if so you sure need to be organized, this will save you time and your dishes will be always cleaner. You could spend more time doing other things than washing those dishes, remember that. Try to clean as you go and scrape those

dishes and put in a warm sudsy pan for soaking, that will make life easier, that's for sure.

Some items you will need for hand dishwashing the dishes are: a container for scraps, a rack or a pad for your sink to prevent scrapes, a dishpan and a drainer, a dishcloth or spongue, a dish puff or brush for the glassware, steel wool pads, a rubber or even plastic scraper, hot water, clean lintless dish towels, scouring powder and a good liquid detergent suitable for the water in your home. Oh don't forget keep a bar of soap by the kitchen sink or perhaps under the sink to wash your hands thoroughly.

First of all, scrape the food from the dishes into a container, then rinse each dish under hot water, and then proceed to stack the dishes in a hot pan of sudsy liquid dishwashing detergent water, stack the plates on the bottom. Then gradually stack the smaller dishes on top, we'll go through the how to's of hand dishwashing first but

naturally you will realize you'll have to wash a few, rinse and put to drain sometimes before filling up the container.

You will need to establish a work pattern, say you are right-handed, you'll work from left to right, or if you prefer work toward the direction the dishes will be stored. If the dishes are stored to the left of the sink then work toward that direction, if on the right, reverse the work flow.

Wash the glasses first, use the glass puff or the glassware brush to get the suds inside and get all the food off them, then rinse and put on drainer, let drain a few minutes till you get all the glassware finished, then you will need your

nice soft lintfree dishcloth to dry these glasses and then put them in the same place in the cabinet where they came from, this promotes order in the cabinets.

After the glassware is finished you will need to do the flatware or silverware, wash, scourer or scrub if needed, rinse and put in dish drainer in the slot provided for silverware or flatware.

Then take your lintfree soft dishcloth and dry and put these away in the correct order in the drawer provided for silerware.

Then you will wash the dishes and use a sponge or dishcloth or even a scrubber to get them really clean, rinse, drain and then dry with the soft lintfree dishcloth and put away in the proper place.

Now take a quick look at the dishpan of soapy sudsy water, does it need changing, if so, let's change and put really hot water in the dishpan with more liquid dishwashing detergent as we need to clean the pots and pans now and they will require very hot and clean sudsy water. You may

need to use scouring powder or scrubbing pad depending on the extent of food residue. If when you empty a pot of food into a container you will then fill the pot with hot water and let it soak it will be much easier to clean.

If you have the space on a dish drainer you could let the dishes totally dry before you put them away but most of the time there is a lack of space and you'll need to dry them, also drying can prevent a lot of spots. Also glassware and

your flatware or silverware will sparkle more with towel drying, since it removes the last traces of water droplets which can spot when allowed to evaporate, especially if you have very hard water as I do in my area.

If you will follow my helpful hints washing those dishes by hand will not take that much time and your kitchen cabinets will be in order also. Enjoy many happy meals.
