This is a great craft for everyone who likes to make things. You may choose to pick up a pattern of a small horse's head, or you can draw one free handed.
Supplies:
Tracing Paper (if drawing freehanded)
Pattern of Horse Head (optional)
5x10" piece of fabric
Scrap of felt
Sewing Thread
Polyester Fiberfill
Needle
6" long cinnamon sticks
Hot glue gun
2 eyes
2 jingle bells
6" piece of artificial garland
Dried Materials (pinecones, berries, nuts, acorns)
Jute Twine
Directions:
Using Pattern or Tracing Paper, cut out two Horse heads from fabric. With right sides facing each other, sew together, leaving the bottom edges open just enough to insert fiberfill and cinnamon sticks. Turn right side out and press.
Stuff the head with fiberfill. Apply glue to one end of cinnamon stick and insert it into the stuffing of the head. Apply a little more glue to the bottom of the cinnamon stick so that it sticks to the edge of the horse' neck. Sew up any gaping holes and edges. Fabric should have a gathered look around cinnamon stick at neck.
Attache eyes to each side of head.
Apply glue down the top of the horse' head on down the neck. Attache garland, making a mane.
Using jute twine, tie it around the muzzle, making reins. Attache two bells to reins under neck. The rest of the rein should be looped behind horse' neck, hanging down its back.
Take felt and cut out two ears and glue to each side of horse' head.
Take rest of dried materials and glue up and down mane of horse.
