In the busy world of today, effective management is essential if you are to make the most of your potential. Whether it is the work at home or in office, you have to produce time bound results. Then only you can reach your goals in due course of time. To achieve what you want either in a day or in a year, you must organize your thoughts and deeds.

Some feel as if they are doing everything but don’t find the end result. Some do less than what they have to do and expect better results. Some wane out under pressure. Some find excuses to reason out their failure. The solution to all these discrepancies lies in getting organized. Here are some tips to help you manage your world at home and in the office.

· The first and foremost point to be considered is the goal. Driving a car, not knowing the direction is a total waste. Decide on your life goals. This sets the ball rolling with motivation.

· You may have long-term goals. Break them into short-term goals. So that, as you proceed you will know where you stand. Suppose you are a marketing executive, your company might have prescribed a target for a year. Break it into month wise targets. You may have plans to buy a house. Unless you make a saving every month, you may not achieve it.

· The short-term goals must be broken into day compartments. This will help you to concentrate better. You can avoid unwanted wavering if you are sure what you should achieve that day.

· Once you are mentally prepared with your work for the day, plan out the schedule for the day priority wise.

· While listing the agenda, consider the timing that each particular work would require.

· Repeating the same work without a break or change will lead to fatigue. Try to avoid monotony.

Inspite of organizing your thoughts on your work, you may not find it possible to accomplish it due to various other personal and external reasons.

· You should have the necessary knowledge, skills and attitudes to march on. Introspect your personal self. If you feel you lack something give provision in your plans to acquire it.

· Your self-confidence plays a vital role in making you accomplish. It arises out of your unconditional acceptance of your self.

· Always have a positive approach. Look into problems as opportunities. Challenges make you grow.

· Your work area should be suitable for the work you are doing with proper lighting, ventilation and furniture. Otherwise you will land in physical inabilities.

· You should maintain a good rapport with your co-workers. If not you will lack support and co-operation to complete the task at hand.

· You must be enthusiastic about your work. If you do a job, which you don’t like, you cannot expect good results.

· Overcome the barriers by handling them according to the situation and the resources available.

· Above all you need the grace of God with your efforts to produce best results. So start your day with prayers.

Life is to live. Nothing is impossible if you know how to organize yourself and your work. You can drift along and let life takes its own course or you can take charge of it and gain control of your future. The choice is yours.
