Alaska's Kenai Peninsula is the home of the world famous Kenai River and its celebrated Kenai River Salmon Run. This area is a fisherman's paradise. If salmon don't appeal to you, then you can easily grab a charter and head out into Cook Inlet to reel in one of those fabled 300 pound halibut that the area is famous for producing.

From late May to early September, the Kenai Peninsula is geared to accomodate tourism above all else. Abundant state and private campgrounds provide hardier tourists with reasonable accomodations. Luxurious bed and breakfasts rest along the shores of the Kenai River for those folks who prefer more comfortable accomodations than tents or R.V.s. Hotels and motels fill up quickly, so book your room reservations well in advance.

Homer, Alaska, is a world famous destination. Visit the "end of the road" that Tom Bodett speaks of by driving out to the end of the Homer Spit. Book sightseeing flights, cruises, or charter fishing trips at the many available charter services that line the spit. Explore Kachemak Bay in a rented kayak.

Seward, Alaska, is famous for its Mount Marathon Fourth of July race. Watch rugged races run up and down a mountain! Charter a wildlife sightseeing cruise amidst the famous Seward Fjords. Charter a fishing trip into Resurrection Bay.

Kenai and Soldotna are approximately eleven miles apart. Both offer prime fishing along the banks of the Kenai River. Watch for Belugas entering the mouth of the Kenai River in pursuit of salmon. View the picturesque commercial fishing fleet as it takes off for high seas adventures in Cook Inlet. Visit the National Challenger Space Center in Kenai. Golf nine or eighteen holes in either Kenai or Soldotna.

Alaska's Kenai Peninsula has a myriad of indoor and outdoor activities for all age ranges. Nikiski, Alaska offers an indoor pool with a water slide for a nominal fee. Fine dining featuring fresh Alaskan seafood is the standard fare on the peninsula. The vacation opportunities here are limited only by your own imagination!
