Key West, Florida is the southernmost point in the continental United States. It offers a unique perspective of life. It's laid back atmosphere is exhilarating to some. On Key West, Florida, you can experience night life and the fun and sun of some gorgeous beaches all at the same time. Here are the best ways to get around on Key West, Florida.

• Foot. This is the most affordable way to get around on Key West. The island is fairly small. You probably don't want to try walking all the way around the island, but you could if you wanted. But all you really need is access to your hotel, the beach, and the downtown area. If you are within walking distance of these places, why rent a car or bike?

• Bicycle. This is how most people transport themselves on the island. If you're flying into Key West, you may want to just rent a couple bicycles for your group. They aren't all that expensive... and are rented on a daily basis. With a bicycle, you can ride around to all the different sights on the island, and have a mode of transportation that is safe and fun.And you can get plenty of exercise while you're at it. This is probably the most popular way of getting around on Key West.

• Car. There are several places to rent a car on Key West, primarily at the airport. The traditional companies here will rent you a car by the day, week, or however many days you need it for. You want to be sure to place your reservations for the car well in advance, because cars are popular to rent on the island. Of course, if you drive yourself to Key West, it likely will be a long haul, but you'll be able to experience all of the Florida keys during your trek to the westernmost island in Florida

• Taxi. This can get expensive, but because the island is so small might be worth the cost. If you just need to make a few journeys across the island on your trip to Key West, this might just be the best way to go. If you think you'll spend most of your time on the beach or in places that are within walking distance, why not just hail a cab when you need one?
