Crafts are great for all ages; these particular crafts can be done on the verge of spring, preparing for the great outdoors.
Window Flower Boxes
Items Needed:
Wood box with plastic liner
Sandpaper
Water proof paint
Paintbrush
Masking tape
Poster board
Pencil
Sponge
Scissors
Stencils
Directions:
1. Take the sandpaper and the wood box and slightly sand the box so that the paint will stick.
2. Apply a strip of masking tape on top border and along bottom border. Paint the top and bottom border your choice of color, and then paint the center color of your choice.
3. Take stencil of your choice and paint patterns of your choice, along the sides and edges.
4. Place box in dry place and let completely dry.
5. When box is completely dried, lay plastic liner in bottom and along sides. Then add soil and seeds of choice.
Wood Sunflowers
Items Needed:
Styrofoam
Assorted strings
Acrylic paints
Paintbrushes
Varnish
Insulation Tape
Double-sided Tape
Garden canes
Assorted beads
Plant ties
Scissors
Waterproof glue
Directions:
1. Take the double-sided tape and tape it on a six-centimeter square of Styrofoam. Make a coil of string on the sticky square. Cut the Styrofoam around the coil.
2. To make the sunflower, cut out two flower shapes from Styrofoam. Paint them red or yellow. Glue a string coil to the center of each flower. Take the varnish and cover the flower all over.
3. Take a cane and glue a cane to the back of the flower. Then on the other side of the cane glue another flower, the look will be two coil flowers facing out.
4. Take a three-inch piece of Styrofoam and make a leaf. Wind green thread around the leaf, covering both sides. Then varnish all over. You will then take glue and glue to center of cane.
