Place 1/2 c butter or margarine in a deep dish. Place in oven to melt. Blend together:
1 c sugar
1 c self-rising flour
3/4 c milk.
Beat to a smooth batter. Pour over melted butter but do not stir. Empty 1 can of sliced peaches, undrained, over batter and sprinkle with 1/2 c sugar. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Batter will rise to top for crust.
