First- Take your line end and pass it through the eye of the jig hook. Now make a 12 inch loop and pass the end of the line back through the eye of the hook You have the main line and the end of the line doubled in one hand and a loop in the other hand.

Second- Let the lure hang loose between your hands. Make sure the line is doubled through the eye of the lure. Now tie an over hand knot but do not tighten the knot.

Third- Pull the 12 inch loop over your jig or lure.
