1 c crystal white syrup
1 c sugar
1/2 tsp oil of cinnamon
1/2 tsp red food coloring
In heavy pan cook syrup and sugar to a hard crack (300 degrees on candy thermometer). Remove from heat. Add cinnamon oil and red food coloring. Pour into well-buttered pan. Either cut into squares before it hardens or let harden and crack as you would peanut brittle.
