Ponderosa Ranch:

Here at this wonderful ranch located at Incline village in the Sierra Nevada’s you will be able to relive the lives of the Cartwright family, Little Joe, Hoss, Ben and Adam. This ranch is located on over 600 acres and most of the episodes of Bonanza were filmed here. You will be able to tour the original house that the family was supposed to have lived in, see an old time saloon, and even an actual blacksmith doing his work. For the kids and some adults too there is a petting zoo to visit. Come early enough in the morning and enjoy a real horse drawn hayride and a delicious pancake breakfast.

Casinos:

Of course lets not forget about adult entertainment, gambling. These new mega resorts now offer something for the whole family. Some offer “G” rated showroom shows early in the evening while later that night they become a little more risqué. This new breed of casinos now offer large arcades that give the kids more than just the old traditional arcade type games, now you have virtual reality, rides, and lots of food and snacks that will keep both the kiddies and their parents happy.

Emerald Bay State Park:

Lake Tahoe is considered the jewel of the Sierra’s and once you arrive at Emerald Bay State Park you will see why. The view alone is breathtaking. The hiking is incredible and offers unobstructed views of this beautiful alpine lake. If you would like to see an actual castle, Vikingsholm castle is at the end of a 1-mile trail from the top of the parking lot to the lake below. Coming back up can be a bit of a challenge though.

MS Dixie Lake Tahoe cruise:

The whole family will enjoy a cruise on this passenger paddlewheel boat that leaves from Zephyr Cove daily. You will be treated to a two-hour cruise through the green-blue waters of Emerald Bay and Lake Tahoe. You will be able to sit on deck out in the open air, or relax inside at a table by the huge windows, while you enjoy a refreshment or snack.

Skiing:

If you decide to travel to this beautiful pristine alpine lake during the winter months you will find an abundance of ski resorts that offer hundreds of ski runs ranging from the easiest slopes to the most difficult around. What ever it is that you prefer, downhill, cross country skiing, or snowboarding, all of these resorts will be able to please you even if you’re a beginner or the most advanced skier.
