Vancouver British Columbia is a popular destination, with many interesting and fun places to visit. Whether you are taking the family or going it on your own, Vancouver offer's something for everyone. Come and visit these popular sites and create some fond memories that will last a lifetime.

Located west of the downtown business district is beautiful Stanley Park. Opened in 1889, Stanley Park has long had the reputation of the being the biggest and most regal park in Vancouver. In the past decade Stanley Park has undergone many changes. The long outdated zoo has been rezoned and the animals that lived there have been sent to the Greater Vancouver Zoo in favor of better habitats. The Vancouver Aquarium remains as a place to view the Marine life of British Columbia and the West Coast. This structure has received an overhaul too and the Marine pools and aquariums have been upgraded and expanded, making it a point of interest for former visitors of Vancouver to return to. The Vancouver Aquarium also boast's a mock up of the Amazon rainforest complete with piranha tanks and alligator pools. On the West Side of the city, you can experience Vancouver's history when you visit the Vancouver Museum. Explore local First Nation's peoples' artifacts and art displays as well as exhibits on loan from all over the world. For more information call (604) 736-4431. Located on the same grounds in Vanier Park is the H.R. MacMillian Space Centre. Your family will enjoy exploring the universe through computer simulations, space artifacts and cosmic exhibits. You can also take in multimedia shows and live demonstrations. If you stay on till the evening, you must pay a visit to the observatory where you can talk to astronomers as they work and take a glance through the enormous telescope and view the constellations. If you are looking for an interesting way to spend a day without spending a lot of money then come and visit Granville Island. Situated along the shores of False Creek, Granville Island is a former Industrial area turned Farmer's Market, and is a great place to explore. Visit some of the many artist studios, vegetable and fish stands, shops, restaurants, pubs and theatres, all within walking distance of each other. In the summer time this location is home to the Vancouver Children's Festival, an annual concert where children enjoy their favorite Canadian entertainer's such as Fred Penner, and Charlotte Diamond. If fine art is your forte then a visit to the Vancouver Art Gallery should be top on your list. The Vancouver Art Gallery is home to the Emily Carr Collection, a Canadian artist of international fame, as well as local and worldwide contemporary and historical exhibits. Enjoy the architecture of the art gallery as you are greeted by marble staircases and a domed roof. Located at the corner Horby and Robson streets, the Vancouver Art Gallery should not be your only stop. If time permits, why not take a walk west down Robson street, Vancouver's answer to Rodeo Drive, and look in such shops as Tommy Hilfiger, Ralph Lauren, and the Banana Republic.

Where else can you experience science first hand but at Science World. Children will enjoy the interactive exhibits, science shows, special events and the Omnimax theatre. Science World hosts several different shows per year and is frequently changing, so why not plan to visit this Vancouver favorite several times a year?
