The southern Florida city of Palm Beach is known for its culture, heritage, and beaches. You'll want to enjoy the weather and check out some of the culture of the city, while you're in town. Here is a list of some of the sights that you won't want to miss in Palm Beach, Florida.
• Henry Flagler Museum. This museum was once a mansion. It was a wedding gift from the 71-year-old Henry Flagler to his 34-year-old wife. The home now serves as Flagler's memorial. The Flaglers would traditionally host elegant teas and parties here. It was the place to have on your social calendar at about the turn of the century.
• Hibel Museum of Art. This museum showcases exhibits from the 1900s. Edna Hibel was born in 1917. This is her collection of some 2,000 pieces. It's truly something you don't want to miss when you're in Palm Beach.
• The Breakers. This hotel is a popular spot among vacationers to Palm Beach, but it's also a historical treasure for the area. Rooms here overlook the Atlantic Ocean. This hotel is built on the spot where Henry Flagler built his second hotel in his empire. It burned down. You can now tour The Breakers, or stay here for a great time for history or just a nice night's rest.
• Bethseda-by-the-Sea Episcopal Church. This church is a Gothic Revival religious experience. You'll want to stop in here to tour the facility. Inside, there are amazing stained-glass windows. Outside, you'll want to walk through the Cluett Memorial Gardens. This is a nice place to reflect on life or simply enjoy tranquility. The church can be found on South County Road.
• Whitehall. This was the vacation home of Henry Flagler. He would come here in the winter months in order to get a taste for one of his favorite cities in the world. The home is white and magnificent. Pillars line the front of the home, as do palm trees. This is a great place to see an amazing home.
