How to Apply for an Apple Credit Card

By Gwynita Leggington

  • Overview

If you are interested in applying for a credit card, consider getting an Apple card. This type of credit card is actually called a Juniper Visa credit card, but you apply for this card through the Apple Store and you can use it to make purchases with this merchant and wherever Visa credit cards are accepted. You may make purchases online, over the telephone or at any Apple Store retail location. The Apple credit card comes with flexible spending, iTunes Rewards, a low annual percentage rate and no annual fees.
    • Step 1

Decide how you want to apply for this credit card. There are two ways to apply for an Apple credit card: online or over the telephone. There is a simple and convenient credit card application available on the Apple Store's website (see Resources below). However, if you are not comfortable applying online, then you are welcome to complete the application process over the phone with an Apple Store customer service representative. Simply call 1-800-MY-APPLE when you are ready to apply for a credit card.
    • Step 2

Complete the credit card application. Provide your name, physical address, social security number, home telephone number and email address; employer's information; details about your annual household income and monthly mortgage or rent payments and your mother's maiden name (for security purposes). Be sure to give the Apple Store valid telephone numbers and an active email address, just in case they need to contact you for additional information.

    • Step 3

Review the guidelines for this card by reading through the terms and conditions. If you apply for a credit card over the telephone, then someone will read this information to you. The terms and conditions includes information about certain rates and fees that are associated with an Apple credit card, such as the Annual Percentage Rate (APR) for purchases, finance charges and rates for cash advances, balance transfers and other transactions.
    • Step 4

Agree to the terms and conditions. You must agree and accept all of the terms and conditions for an Apple credit card before the bank can process your application. Provide your electronic signature or verbally agree to the guidelines that are established by Juniper Bank. When you agree to the terms for an Apple credit card, you also give Juniper Bank permission to access your credit file as part of the application process.
    • Step 5

Receive the status of your application. Quite often, the Apple Store can let you know immediately whether you were approved for a credit card. However, in some cases it may take a few days or even a week or longer before you know the status of your application. You should receive an email or letter via postal mail with details about your application status in a short period of time after applying for an Apple credit card.
    • Skill: Easy
