What is an acupressure massage?

Acupressure massage is basically placing pressure on different points on the body's meridians to relieve pain.

Acupressure massage is basically going into the meridians of the body, (which they do with acupuncture) and putting pressure on all the different acupressure point. There are 12 meridians, three on each leg and three on each arm, and then there is a central meridian and the covering vessel. All these meridians have points to them; one of them is the bladder meridian. It is the longest meridian and has 67 points. The heart meridian is the shortest and it has only 9 points and by putting pressure on these different points you are doing much the same that acupuncture does. The point is the specific spot like between the thumb and the first finger or three inches up from the wrist or something like that. They all have specific areas, where they have points and if you press on these points, you are doing much the same job as acupuncture. Trigger point therapy is basically the same thing as acupressure massage therapy, where you are putting pressure on trigger points of a muscle to try to get it to relax.
