Or when the time comes to purchase a new television, consumers sometimes willingly make their decision based on the name brand, meaning that they will trust their money with a company they know, even if they are not sure that Sony or Panasonic has the best deal. But what happens when the time comes to purchase an item for their home that is not in the everyday fold of life such as a toilet? In situations such as this one, experts will always tell consumers to do as much research as they possibly can on any company before making a decision.
As for Peter DeMarco, he stands strongly behind American Standard toilets. DeMarco is the director of compliance engineering at American Standard. They have been manufacturing plumbing fixtures for more than 140 years and are the world's largest manufacturer of bathroom fixtures and faucets. DeMarco said that the first thing that a consumer should look for when purchasing a new toilet is whether or not the big-name home improvement stores carry the brand that you are looking at. If they do, chances are you are on the right track.
"We do sell to Home Depot and to Lowes stores," DeMarco said. "The other main avenue of distribution is of course our wholesale distributors who are located all throughout the country and can be found by looking in the phone book. Also, you can check to see if your neighborhood plumbing supply house carries American Standard. If so, they'll list it on their advertising in the yellow pages."
"There is a number interested consumers can call for local dealer information," DeMarco said. "You can go on the web as well, and there is an area where you can find local dealers by entering your zip code."
One of the reasons why DeMarco said he stands behind all the equipment that American Standard makes is because of the warranty they give on their toilets. DeMarco said that consumers can trust that they are getting a good and fair deal when American Standard is involved.
"Warranties will range from 1-10 years depending on the model," DeMarco said. "And again, the Champion has the highest warranty in the industry. To my knowledge anyway it's a 10 year warranty on all parts."
In addition to having a warranty service that's second to none, American Standard toilets are great for those homeowners who tend to decorate their bathrooms in corresponding themes. So, if you're worried that the brass on your toilet won't match the brass on your sink, DeMarco said that American Standard can handle just about every problem.
"Yes every type of plumbing fixture that you see in the bathroom or in a kitchen, we manufacture," DeMarco said. "We do kitchen sinks, bathroom sinks, bathtubs and shower stalls. We are a full line manufacturer. There are very few companies that have the range of product offerings that we do."
"One thing that makes us stand out relative to every competitor is that we are strong in every aspect of plumbing fixtures and fittings," he added. "There are companies that do better on faucets; there are others that don't sell fixtures, and some that sell fixtures but not faucets. We have a very strong market presence as a total bathroom solution to consumers. So I think that's one thing that really sets us apart from any other company that's out there."
