How to Make Business Cards for Free

Several websites offer "free" business cards, as long as you pay for shipping and handling. Their shipping fees are reasonable: about $5 for the slowest method. If you want your cards faster, you can pay more.

Most free card offers are for 250 business cards printed on plain white 80-lb. cardstock--which is about the thickness of an index card. The offers include full-color printing.

The free cards are on pre-designed templates that suit most people and include the company's logo on the back of the card. You can have the logo omitted for a small charge.

Step 1

Select an online business-card printer like VistaPrint or GigglePrint (see Resources) that offers free sets of cards.

Step 2

Sort through the free designs. Both sites offer several dozen designs in full color. Be careful to select a "free" design.

Step 3

Enter your information. Your business card will be previewed on the screen using the sample design you have selected. Feel free to experiment with the text. For example, see what it looks like if you enter your name in the spot for "Company Name." Many of the boxes are flexible. Be sure to click on any box you don't want to use to remove the sample text.

Step 4

Proofread your card. Check for mistakes in spelling and phone numbers. The printer will not proof the card for you.

Step 5

Check out and wait for your free cards to arrive in the mail.

Skill: Easy

Warning: No card is truly free: You still need to pay for shipping.
