Have a second set of all your books, where your assets are, and your insurance in a separate place in case of a disaster. After 9/11 we saw that some people didn't even have their insurance policy or a backup record to start doing business again. Disaster assistance belongs to the central government. The SBA Office of Disaster Assistance can actually provide help to both business owners and home owners. Small businesses encourage economic growth and recovery, but disaster assistance is important.
