Wick sizing is the most critical aspect of making a safe candle. The wick selection is very critical to ensure it burns safely. Unfortunately, if there is a disadvantage to candle making it is in selecting the right wick. It is not an exact science. Most of your good manufactures of wicks can provide recommendations. They can tell you terms what wick will perform best with certain candles, but the reality of it is, you still have to test it out. The final choice is something that the candlemaker has to determine on his/her own.
