If a fur filled hat gets wet, put it upside down on the crown, and let it dry in room temperature. Do not dry it by heater, radiator, or lamp. Animals are used to the cold weather, so it's not going to fall apart.
A straw hat has a completely different texture. It's a harder and water rolls off the straw, so it is not a problem at all.
If a wool hat gets wet, put it upside down and let it dry in room temperature, however, it will not hold up as well as a fur filled hat.
