Bali Honeycomb Blinds are a popular choice for homeowners. These attractive window coverings offer energy-efficient insulation, sound absorption and privacy in a variety of fabrics. Keeping them clean will extend the life and appearance of the honeycomb blinds. However, since incorrect cleaning will void the blinds' warranty, it's important to follow the correct cleaning instructions.
Step 1
Dust the Bali honeycomb blinds. Use a feather duster, lambs-wool duster or one of the disposable dusters, like the Swiffer. Dust lightly and regularly to keep the blinds looking new.
Step 2
Use compressed air to remove dust from places on the blinds that cannot be reached via regular dusting. Make sure there is adequate ventilation before spraying the compressed air. Use the can with or without the straw attachment. Hold the can (or the tip of the straw) 12 inches away from the blind and spray lightly. Move the can back and forth along the blind.
Step 3
Vacuum the honeycomb blinds periodically for a deeper cleaning. Use the upholstery attachment on the vacuum and go over the blinds lightly. Be careful not to crush the fabric.
Step 4
Clean any spots using a soft white cloth or sponge. Mix a small amount of mild detergent in warm water. Dip the cloth or sponge into the soapy water and gently blot (don't rub) the spot. Handle the blinds carefully so you do not crush or wrinkle them. Rinse the soap out of the cloth or sponge, then blot the cleaned area on the blind to remove excess detergent. Open the blinds fully and allow them to air-dry completely.
Step 5
Clean the entire honeycomb blind with upholstery cleaners. Use only the aerosol style that makes a foam. Lightly spray a small section of the blind with the foam cleaner, then wipe with a clean, damp sponge. Move the sponge parallel to the pleats in the honeycomb, using a back-and-forth stroke. Blot with a clean towel to remove excess cleaner. Move to the next area on the blind and repeat the cleaning. Open the blind fully and allow it to completely air dry. If necessary, the entire shade may be cleaned in this fashion. Be careful not to crush or wrinkle the fabric. Make sure the shade is fully open and allow to air dry.

Tip: Use white towels and cloths when cleaning blinds to prevent possible color-bleeding from the cloth or sponge onto the blind.
Only use mild detergents on the blinds.
Always test the detergent/water mixture on an inconspicuous section of the blind before cleaning.
Warning: Frequent cleaning with upholstery cleaners can damage the fabric of the blinds.
Do not use spot removers like Shout.
Bali does not recommend dry cleaning or ultrasonic cleaning on its honeycomb blinds. They also recommend using caution when cleaning Cocoon and Garden Retreat fabrics, as they can permanently crease.
