Wood blinds are a beautiful addition to the decor of any home, but occasionally they end up being too wide for the intended space. Here's a simple way to cut wood blinds to better fit a window.

Step 1
Press the slats together tightly and clamp them with rubber bands. Be careful not to bind the strings on the blinds.
Step 2
Use masking tape to bind the ends of the slats so as not to have wood chips everywhere and to ensure a cleaner cut.
Step 3
Measure the amount that needs to be taken off and mark with a pencil.
Step 4
Using a chop saw or miter saw, cut through the tape and slats.
Step 5
Remove the remaining tape and examine your work. The blinds should now fit the window.
Ingredients:
- Pencil
- Masking tape
- Ruler
- Chop saw or miter saw
Tip: Cutting your own blinds should be a last resort. Sending the blinds back to the manufacturer should be the first option, or consider taking them back to the store they were purchased from to possibly swap for a better fitting set.
