What is a deep tissue massage?

Deep tissue massage therapy is a deeper, slower massage that is based on Swedish massage therapy strokes.

It is a much deeper massage. In other words we go into the muscles deeper and you try to stay within the pain tolerance of the client. Of course, some clients can take more pain than other clients. Some clients like less pain and other clients say that "no pain, no gain." You are going in very deep into the tissue and of course with the deep tissue massage; it's a much slower massage because the deeper you go the slower you go. If you are trying to relax the back muscles or the leg muscles or something like that, then there are Swedish massages. But if you want to get into the deep tissue, then you use deep tissue massages to get there.
