Can you give me the pros and cons of discount flatware?

Discount flatware can be cheap, but it also can be lower quality.

I guess the pro is people are getting something quick for a price. The con is really that it is not going to last too long. The pieces will bend. The knives will rust because the cheaper flatware, what they refer to in the stainless steel industry as 13 chrome, has no nickle in it. It has a low level of chrome content in the steel. So it doesn't hold up as well in a dishwasher and with water contact. So, over time it starts to rust.

The big difference in flatware also includes gauge. This is the thickness of the steel. Really cheap flatware is very thin gauge. Have you ever been to a pizza place, where they have those thin spoons? If you stick it in ice cream, it bends? That's what cheap flatware does.
