Usually, it is recommended that one doesn't set up their own home theater system. This is because of the details that are included in the design and installation. Dave Tovissi, Vice President of systems and engineering for Tweeter Home Entertainment, has given insights into the design and installation of these systems. When asked whether one should design and install their own system, he stated: "You wouldn't go build a house by yourself, or build a car by yourself; you can, but the results will be significantly different."
In relation to this are the details that go into installing a home theater system. Details must be understood about the amplifiers, video products and projectors, and how these will work in relation to each other. Tovissi states, "The things to keep in mind are how to get the signal from all your amplifiers and video products in the back of the room to the projector; how are you going to get the images to the screen? Also, having the right amount of power, the right amount of outlets is important." All of these things will need to be balanced and installed correctly. If not, you can blow a circuit fuse or cause complications with the electricity or projector.
When Tovissi installs a home theater system, there are several steps in which he follows to ensure that there will be no obstacles. Calculations of electrical power are first made. This will determine what outlets need to be installed or used. After this, measurements will be taken to determine where the projector should go. The position needs to be at the right angle in order to hit the screen and give the fullest picture. If not, it becomes more difficult to arrange the screen to put in the right area. Most of those who are trained to put in home theater systems have gone through levels of training in order to provide the best results without complications.
After the measurements are made and the installations are put in the right place, Tovissi and those who work for Tweeter Home Entertainment will provide information to the customer to make sure the system is maintained. "We try to (after the installations) set aside enough time to educate the client on how to use the system. A lot of our systems that we predesign, we provide our own user manual that's written by us." This allows for the home theater system to remain intact after installation.
When one is designing and installing a home theater system, there are several steps that will need to be taken. In order to make sure that it is done right, it is better to get information as well as installation help from a professional. This will guarantee that you will have the best available system without any difficulties, allowing you to relax in your own home with your theater system.
