You might try the yellow pages; you could look on line, look in the local trade papers, and look for casting directors, extra castings. Look under extra casting companies; that is all that they do. Also look into local student films being produced at universities or music videos. Just get yourself exposed. Try low budget, non-union productions or industrials. They are a great way to break into the commercial business. You could look up industrial video companies or corporate video training companies where they produce in-house sales training tapes for business-to-business communications and corporate image videos. If you make a phone call they will tell you who casts for their videos. A small company will hire a casting director who comes in with their own actors. Sometimes it is just a post production house. A lot of post production houses produce corporate videos and sales training tapes. Look in the yellow pages for them and ask about leaving your picture and resume in case they have a client who is looking for new faces and new actors. Let them know you would like the opportunity to read for them. It is a great way to learn without the pressure. Industrial work can go on your resume. They are also a great source for voiceovers.
