Should all students and parents fill out the FAFSA form?

Everyone looking to attend college should fill out the FAFSA application to determine what that particular person is eligible for.

Absolutely, even if you think you make too much money it is important to complete the FAFSA for the following reasons: it is free, many schools use it to apply for institutional aid including grants and scholarships, many states use it to apply for state support aid, the FAFSA also serves as the application for the Federal Student Loan Programs which include loans that are not based on need.

A student should not wait to see if they are accepted before filling out the form. A student should file the FAFSA as soon after January l of the year they hope to attend.
