Where's a good place to find a monologue?

Learn where to find a great monologue. Looking in movies or newspapers is a good idea, however do not recommend writing your own.

Watch lots of movies. Look for monologues there that move you. Put it down on paper and start working on it. You can find themes that way too.

Q:Can you write your own monologue?

You could. I wouldn't love it, but you could. You could say something like" My friend is working on being a playwright and he wrote a script". You want them to be wowed by what you are doing, not who wrote it. I wouldn't lie; I would say something like I was really moved by this and thought it would make a great monologue. Just be upfront about it.
