How should I care for fine jewelry?

Tips and techniques for the care and maintenance of fine jewelry.

I always recommend that you take it off every night and put it in a film canister or little bowl at the kitchen counter. Put a little dish soap in it with hot water and leave it overnight. When you then take it out in the morning, rinse it off and put it back on. If you do that every night, the piece will stay clean like when you bought it. If you put it in the dish soap with hot water every night, it will stay that way. What happens is people wear jewelry and never take it off. So when they never take it off and it gets all dirty and then have to take it to somebody like myself or a store and have it professionally cleaned. You will have lost the time where it looked bad because it's all dirty. It just needs to stay clean and do not use toothbrushes to clean it. No toothbrushes or toothpaste, just dish soap and hot water and it is best to be soaked every night.
