I think it depends on the quality, where they are made, and maybe how big of a store they are at. Take an example like Lazy Boy; you are probably not going to see a huge difference from store-to-store wherever you go and shop for them.
I would not say prices are set, but I would say that everybody is really competitive. A lot of the furniture is made in the same area, they are designed in the companies, and they attempt to stay competitive with each other. It is the same with the appliances also.
