Is it possible to have too much connected to your home theater system?

Depending on your home's breakers and outlet circuits, you can possibly have too many components connected to your home theater system.

That depends on the outlet. Sometimes people will plug everything into one outlet, and that's a problem. It depends on your breakers. For example, the average home comes with 15-amp or 20-amp circuits. You have to look at the back of the unit to see how many amps it is putting out. Most people won't have a problem with hooking up a lot of things to one outlet. You can still look at the amps and the breakers because you also have other things in the room that are connected to the same circuit. For example, your light switch and air conditioner are in the same room, and other things in the room may also be connected to that same breaker. So that can be a problem; if your breaker pops, then you have too many things on that one line. But as far as the number of things that you hook up, that could be a problem.

How do you view these things? How many inputs do you have in your amplifier? Let's say you have a DVR, DVD player, VCR, amplifier, and a CD player. You have to get an amplifier that's large enough to have enough inputs. That's so you can plug those components into the system. You might also have other places you can hook up a tuner or radio. A lot of times you could buy an amplifier but it doesn't have a radio setting on it so you have to buy a separate tuner to get radio stations to play on your home theater system.
