How to Make Your Own Silicone Bracelet

Silicone bracelets are in. They are used for fun, to raise money for a good cause....and to make a political, personal or religious statement. You can purchase them, but they may not look the way you want. If you don't mind putting in a little work, you can create your own silicone bracelet.

Step 1

Get out a measuring tape and close up one fist. Measure all the way around your fist. Write this number down.

Step 2

Lay a sheet of newspaper out on your workspace area.

Step 3

Place a silicone sheet on the newspaper. You have two options. You can purchase a silicone sheet at a craft store or you can purchase a silicone baking sheet at a store like Bed, Bath and Beyond. They are the same thing.

Step 4

Use a utility knife to cut out a rectangle for your wristband. You will want to place your ruler on each side as you cut so that the edges are straight. The wristband should be slightly longer than the measurement you got from step one. You can make the wristband as wide as you want it.

Step 5

Take the ends of your long rectangle and add adhesive. Press the ends together and use a clothes pin to hold the ends in place. If you have a clamp, you can use it. You will need to leave the clamp on until the glue completely dries.

Step 6

Use a permanent marker to draw your own message on the bracelet.

Skill: Moderately Easy
