Is Pilates a great exercise for men too?

History and information for everyone about the benefits of Pilates exercise.

Most definitely, Joseph Pilate was the man who came up with Pilates and he was a boxer and a trainer. He was looking at it from the point of view of what can be done to help boxers when in training. He designed this whole Pilates program. Pilates basically takes the strength training component and marries it with the flexibility component so you are getting good range of motion and resistive training throughout that range of motion. Professional dancers kind of got on this bandwagon and some of them started to take Pilates. They realized how much it will benefit their particular profession. I think everybody can benefit from Pilates because it does strengthen you, but it also gives you that flexibility that you need.
