Is tanning while pregnant recommended?

Tanning can uplift a pregnant woman, because it can add to her self esteem.

It is up to the individual person and it is up to the individual doctor. Though there is absolutely no way the tanning rays can get through to the fetus, the big thing with tanning, when you are pregnant is the heat. What you want to be careful about is the heat factor. It's the same thing as sitting in a hot tub if you are pregnant. That is not necessarily a good idea, but I have had lot of clients, the owner's wife here tanned once a week before she gave birth to her daughter. I have people, who have chosen not to tan while they are pregnant. I have people who have chosen to tan up until the day before they go into a Cesarean section.

Think about it. You are pregnant. You are feeling like a house; you can't see your feet. What would make you feel better? A tan.

I completely understand why a pregnant person would want to come in and tan.
