What is the purpose of registering a pattern on your website?

When you register a pattern on a website, we let you know by mail when the pattern is going to be discontinued and from time to time, if we have specials on a particular pattern. So for instance let's say the pattern Brook Hollow was really popular in the department stores and lot of department stores decided to drop that from their line. We have a more than adequate inventory; we haven't got rid of all of it in our outlet stores. We will generally send you a letter saying, "you can buy these pieces at 50% off" and that's usually a great thing for people because they might like to have a couple of extra vegetables a few extra plates, so it's truly a good service. It's important to remember that china is a little bit different than other things because there is an enormous emotional attachment to chinaware. You don't really think about so much as the dishes themselves, but it is the connection of the meals, our family has always had Thanksgiving dinner together and we always bring out the fine china.
