What is rustic furniture?

Rustic furniture is timber furniture.

That would be classified within the industry as a life style influenced by the Southwest and Rocky Mountain areas, where you can see materials that are older, materials being re-used. You'll see timber furniture. A lot of it is coming out of Mexico. About three or four years ago, rustic furniture had large open joints, cracks, and season splits. It was more like an antique type of thing. But not antique in a passive word, antique in that it was rustic.
