When should a person do a partnership or sole entity corporation?

Sole proprietorships and partnerships are two options under incorporation.

I think these are the two situations we always refer to when we are talking about incorporation. You set it up by getting an accountant and getting an attorney and they can tell you what the best structure is for you. There are advantages to sole proprietorship. There are advantages with self employment or with partnership or other ways of incorporating. It's really both a financial decision and a legal decision and so we would always refer you to the professionals in that regard
