How to Make a Staple Bracelet

Staplers are more than just a useful tool around the office and home. You can use them to create funky bracelets as well. With a little bit of practice, you can make a simple staple bracelet in minutes. Add beads and other decorations to get a look all your own.

Step 1

Get color staples like the ones linked to below. Press the stapler until you have enough staples to make a bracelet. Start with five of each color, then see if you need more.

Step 2

Slide the ends of two staples together to join them. Squeeze the connection closed with a needle-nosed pliers to reinforce it.

Step 3

Add a few extra large, heavy duty staples for variety.

Step 4

Wrap colored wire around some of the staples. Twist thin enameled wire around a single staple until it forms a thick, colorful layer. Alternately, you can wrap a thicker wire around the entire staple bracelet for a spiral design.

Step 5

Decorate the staple bracelet with beads, ribbons or trinkets. Nearly anything can be wrapped around the staple bracelet or threaded onto it.

Step 6

Join the bracelet together by having a friend bend the last two links together around your wrist. Alternately you can attach the bracelet to a jewelery clasp by bending a staple around each end of the clasp.
