How should I take care of Sterling Silver flatware?

Sterling Silver flatware needs to be closed up in a flatware chest for minimal exposure to air.

For Sterling Silver flatware, the main thing is to keep it covered when you are not using it, typically a chest where it has minimal air exposure. You don't want the flatware to tarnish and air is what really causes tarnishing. If we keep it in a chest that's closed; typically, you won't have to polish each time you use it.

You can put your Sterling Silver flatware in the dishwasher, no problem. Putting it into the dishwasher won't clean tarnishing but it will keep it clean. There are very few people in the world that actually use sterling everyday but you can. People don't necessarily realize that if we use it everyday and put it in the dishwasher, it doesn't tarnish.

As for polishing flatware, just use a general silver polish.
