How do tanning beds affect pregnant women?

Pregnant women should follow their maternal instincts when using a tanning bed, hot tub, or sauna to prevent overheating.

The biggest issue with pregnancy and tanning is heat. During the first trimester, it's a known fact that the baby gets a grip on the womb, so she is to be very careful. Most doctors would tell pregnant women to lay out by a pool for a little sun but to avoid hot tubs or saunas or anything that generates a lot of heat. If a tanning bed is ventilating properly and she is taking very light sessions, it shouldn't affect the baby at all. Pregnancy involves doctors and maternal instincts, so if a customer or her doctor is not comfortable, I don't push it. Let her make the choice, because it is her child.
