How should I care for a tattoo?

Tips and techniques for the care and maintenance of a new tattoo.

For the first few days use an antibacterial ointment on the new tattoo. Once it is beginning to heal (approximately few days), skin lotion would be good enough. You do not need to keep putting medicine on it. After getting a new tattoo you should not soak in water. Take a bath or shower, but you do not want to soak it. Also, new tattoos need air but be careful with the amount of sun exposure you receive with the new tattoo.
