Turquoise is soft material. Some of it is dyed and some is not. It takes an expert to find out and often times the person that is selling it doesn't know if it is dyed or not. The dyed turquoise often times will fade easier and faster than some other color or wash out of it. All turquoise changes color over time from the oils on your skin or by wearing it. They can be beautiful when you buy it and then over time it will change from blue to green with the wear. Turquoise is not hard. It is real soft. It will not last well on a gem string. It will crack or break. It's very soft.
