Where can I buy vinyl records for my collection?

You can find vintage records at used bookstores, record stores, garage sales, and flea markets.

Everything I've ever seen is at used bookstores, record stores, garage sales, and flea markets. If you can find mom and pop kind of places or smaller record stores are good places for that. They are not chains or mall specific. Oddly enough, I think Virgin Records carries a couple of shelves of vinyl. There's may be a couple of things, good things hooked in there if they sell enough, but it's kind of ridiculous to me. But yes, there are places; if you get away from chain stores and mall stores you will find it. But there are few bands today that will still go to the trouble of pressing vinyl and making it a big deal. Most of those people are probably children of the 60s and 70s and they remember that kind of thrill of buying vinyl. So they will still press them, but they don't press in large numbers and it's harder to find them. You can buy newer bands' vinyl at some places, but it's not stocked heavily. It may come back it seems like it has been recently but not on a wide scale. And most people don't have record players. Fortunately, I have known people who do have record players and I have one so we can enjoy that. But there are only a handful of people that really produce vinyl these days but it's still in consciousness anyway. The older stuff is definitely only used if you're going to get anything before the 1990s.
